The foundation was established to simultaneously celebrate Joe (Joey, Joey Mac, Stylez, Joey from Smithtown, etc.) and build upon his belief that every person should have the guidance and opportunities to find their purpose in life and to reach their full potential. Our mission focuses on individuals under the age of 25 residing in the tri-state area – those in need of guidance, mentorship, or financial support to achieve success in their fields of passion.
The name – ‘March Forth’ – serves to not only honor Joe’s birthday, but as a reminder to harness his energy, persistence, and courage. We endeavor to do so in a way that makes him proud by aligning the components of our foundation in a way that would be ‘Joe approved’, for example through events [wouldn’t be right if we didn’t have a bocce tournament] and merchandise [let’s just say the guy looked good in a pinny and bucket hat].
In terms of partnerships, as many of you know, Joe played a very active role in the iMentor program through his company, Newsela, where he made a friend and served as a big brother over the past few years. The impact he made was an immense source of pride and represents the type of influence we want to carry on and grow. We’ll be seeking partnerships with like-minded organizations to accomplish this goal.
